Way to much of a computer bias...

Seriously, gin or knock after 2 draws multiple times in a game? And Im holding at 99 points for four hands? Yyyyyyyyyeah... I know Im playing on "hard", but cmon... Quick knocks/gins, rigged bias is annoying.

Gin

Feat game. Fast pace. Good graphics.

Fun Games

This is a good app to play various versions of Gin Rummy alone, against the computer or with a partner. I have not yet had problems with the game freezing as others have mentioned so perhaps it was repaired since those reviews. Occasionally it doesnt "find" my my husbands I Pad or I Phone, but eventually, if you keep inviting, it will recognize the opponent. This quirk does not happen often. I agree with some of the other reviewers who noted that the app or computer has the appearance of "cheating." I have played it long enough to see the pattern. Here is an example: I am playing with my partner and 2 Kings are dealt to me. My partner does not know that and if he is holding one King that is not a flush, he will discard it quickly to decrease the points the opponent could receive. Of course when I draw certain cards he may remember and withhold cards that s/he believes I need. That is to be expected so I do not have a problem when the computer keeps cards after I have drawn them. However, the computers "strategy" when holding high point cards is to discard the cards with higher points cards first. Using the example of holding 2 Kings, the computer waits until I finally discard a King to discard its King. I could give numerous examples of the same type of playing because it happens consistently. From the beginning to the end of the game the programming appears to allow the computer to play as if it knows its opponents hand throughout the entire game whether you have picked "easy, medium or hard." Secondly, just as other reviewers mentioned, it gets great hands and when it doesnt it has a habit of drawing the perfect cards. It often knocks quickly, especially when ones hand is filled with cards of high points. It appears to have "winning" streaks fairly often due to the cards it draws or having a good hand. When I have the opportunity to knock the computer consistently either does not have many remaining cards or high point cards. The contrast when playing with another person is easy to see, as the above does not occur. That being said, I still enjoy the games. The "Achievement Board" is a enjoyable part of the app giving the player goals, which makes the games more challenging. There are very few technical problems. I give it a 5 star rating for those who enjoy Gin Rummy, with one warning. When you play alone with the computer expect to win less than playing with a partner. Occasionally, it "allows" you to get a "winning streak."

Great interaction

Played a good number of easy and medium games. Enjoyed the experience. Appears to strong prejudice in easy mode for playing low end of the deck and discard high cards. This bias puts me at risk for high knock scores. Otherwise great fun.

Great Game...but

I dont review often but the computer AI on this one drives me crazy. Overall its a well designed easy to play game, but...that dang computer -even on easy- knocks or gets gin after one or two draws consistently. Always seem to pick up the card I need after discarding its pair. One sided and frustrating! You can win but its rare. Fix the AI and Ill raise the rating.

Best online Gin

Good multiplayer gin game.. Only complaint change voice chat too messaging chat..Cant always talk when playing Other than that No problems..Good Game

Fake people,

Any time I play the same names appear these have to be computer opponents. Most of the time they knock or gin within 2 turns.

Gin game

This is very fun and engaging. Havent tried using it with other players but the developers did a great job. The machine plays just like a friend of mine.

Best gin game out there, except...

...the multiplayer functionality is not the best. Getting matches is buggy, and even peer to peer right next to each other can be glitchy. The AI is pretty easy so be prepared to get schooled by a real person at first.

Great game!

This is a very good version of gin rummy. Plays well, looks great. There are a few options to make it different. Hats off to the developers for a nice job.

Gin Rummy

Love this game! Been waiting a long time for a version that can be played on my iPad.

Game now crashes constantly on iPhone 5s

With multiplayer mode the game crashes when trying to load games. This is new in the past few weeks, please fix the glitch! I cannot accept some new games either.

Mostly great

I like most of this app. There are two things that irritate me though... 1) the way that the cards regroup themselves. If I already have three of a kind or a straight and draw a card that could make a straight using one of the cards in the three of a kind or vice versa, the cards rearrange themselves and it is distracting at minimum annoying is the more apt word. 2) one cant draw the opponents last discard. Its not common for this to happen but it has happened on more than one occasion that the final discard would win my the game. Thats REALLY frustrating! Otherwise, great to be able gin whenever I like.

Gin

An excellent game. Great graphics and fast play, though I think that my iPhone and the dealer are in cahoots!

Knock quickly?

I enjoy playing, but I only win by undercuts. The computer knocks super fast and Ive never been able to knock or get Gin after one card draw, so I feel the program favors the computer too much.

This is the real Macoy

If you like playing GinRummy you will Love this App. Very fast paced. Never a dull moment. I give it 5 stars.

Its okay

The graphics are very good, gameplay is good, and the interface is okay. The game seems a little rough in spots: Playing against a friend, two turn based matches disappeared, the only trace of them is the tally of hands played. And one instance so far where the hand originally dealt disappeared upon picking up the game again several hours later.

Ok but far from perfect

The scoring of hands leaves much to be desired. They logic can not see alternate ways to structure hands and frequently cant see gins. Also when playing cards when opponent goes down it will not allow you to rearrange your had to play cards and undercut opponent. Earlier versions allowed control so when it got the wrong answer it could be fixed. Contrary to other comments, I dont think that the computer is a very skilled player even at most difficult setting.

COULD be great - but too buggy

There are so many great things about this app, but for a paid app - these bugs should have been worked out before charging people. When playing in multiplayer mode the game often crashes in the middle and disappears - forever. Right in the middle of your game with your friend. Also starting games with your friend - SUPER BUGGY. So many issues here. Unless you time it right your friend never sees the invite so you show multiple games started with that person and they have NOTHING. Plus the alerting system to the fact that it is your move or there is a game pending is absolutely awful. Single player is less buggy and seems decent.
